Process
The design process began with extensive user interviews, which gathered information from 4-5 key users to better understand their needs and pain points. Following that, stakeholder meetings were held to ensure alignment on project goals and priorities. The information architecture was meticulously planned to ensure intuitive navigation, followed by the development of user flows to map out creators' interactions with the platform.
Wireframe sketches were then created to help brainstorm ideas and iterate on layout and functionality. These sketches served as the foundation for subsequent visual designs, which refined the aesthetic and user interface elements to create a compelling user experience. Throughout the process, Agile methodology was used to allow for continuous feedback and iterations based on user and stakeholder input.
Upon completion, the design was handed off to developers, accompanied by detailed documentation and assets to guide implementation. Agile principles facilitated seamless collaboration between design and development teams, ensuring that the final product met both user expectations and technical requirements.
Outcome
My involvement in the design of Flatlay's Creator Dashboard provided me with invaluable experience conducting user interviews, collaborating with stakeholders, and implementing Agile methodologies. Wireframes and visual designs helped me improve my ability to translate ideas into intuitive user interfaces, while iterative design processes taught me the value of adaptability and continuous improvement. In all, this project strengthened my understanding of user-centered design principles and emphasised the importance of effective communication and teamwork in delivering successful digital products.
